The Big Seven

Elina turned seven months. Odd time to celebrate? Maybe, unless you find yourself at a particularly thankfutime in your life. A time when you realize how precious your time is after all.

 

By the way, you can over-decorate a cake, but you cannot over-love a babe.

We are so proud of Elina and all that she is. 

Elina's surgery was postponed again. The icu is completely full. We are rescheduled for March 1st and we are hoping those kids will get better. It felt like a low-blow at the time, but we are rolling with the punches- its something we have gotten good at.

In the meantime, we have a new home to assemble, schedules to appease, and moments to soak up.

 I couldn't find her snow suit yesterday morning for our small blizzard. We made due with a Christmas costume that just started to fit.

Making the best with what we have. Isn't that what happiness is all about? Taking what you have-whether its unexpected, dreaded, exciting, or everday- and finding the beauty in it.

I don't have to look very hard to find beauty these days.
